The 2010 season is now in the books and it was a great one. An AFC West Championship and a home playoff game were exactly what the Kansas City Chiefs needed to bounce out of the slump they'd wallowed in for years. KC fans everywhere hope the momentum carries over into the 2011 season but there are reasons to be concerned.
For the first time in years the Chiefs won't be picking very early in the NFL Draft. In the 2011 NFL Draft the Chiefs are currently scheduled to pick 22. Of course picks are often traded so until they actually pick at the number 22 spot there's no way of actually knowing where they'll pick.
Of course Charlie Weiss won't be back for the 2011 season. Instead he'll be working out of Gainesville, Florida. The Chiefs also have a much for difficult schedule in 2011. However, instead of focusing on the negatives let's be optimistic about Matt Cassel's development and the host of other positives like rookie Eric Berry exceeding expectations.
It's never too early to start making plans to visit St. Joseph, Missouri for the 2011 Chiefs training camp. My advice would be to take a camera along to capture the memories. If you're using a Canon SLR camera don't forget to take a 5D battery charger if you have the popular 5D or 7D models.
In closing, don't be too disappointed with the rough home losses to Oakland and Baltimore to end the season. Be optimistic about building towards the future.
